At EDP they used a very complex Excel to simulate the behaviour of energy market.

The original Excel file have hundreds of lines with formulas in some cases with 5 lines of formulas in just one cell.

The simulator was very complex and uses 6 team competing with each other in the energy market.

At each turn each player can decide the price it will bid and the capacity investment. The player with the best financial position at the end wins.

This excel was converted into php, mysql, javascript and jquery system.
